Had one on nearly every chain drive bike I've had over the years. Never had any grief from it once set up, keep it topped up every thou miles or so and it can almost double the chain life.
Not everybody is perfect enough to remember to lube their chain every ride

Ozz - just read the threads on UKMOC that crop up periodically about them..... this has no comparisons on the red v's yellow debate - its thorny territory
If you bother to check your chain, lube it etc -then you shouldnt need to have one - and when doing the checks you are able to keep an eye on how wear & tear is anyway
In our house they are never mentioned, never spotted.... Edited by CK - 03 Nov 2009 at 8:46pm |

Hate the things, if you want one call a brakers, we use to have bags of them off crashed bikes... :)
A top of the range will cost you about 20 quid....if you dont check the chain why would you check the oiler...:S

Had one on my GS1150 - made a hell of a mess of the rear wheel.
As an aside, I think Nick Sanders (the nutter who rides round the world on an R1) uses a chain with no lube at all.
